The Sex Times…

Singapore newspapers should come with a rating system judging from the number of explicit articles on incidents revolving around ‘sex for favors’ lately. Page 6 of today’s Straits Times reads like some orgy of stupidity with educators, businessmen and even cops getting in trouble for obtaining sexual services from people who blew their cover (no pun intended).

First story on page six revolves around Professor Tey Tsun Hang embroiled in a sex for grades scandal with his student. The best part is apart from offering Professor Tay sex, he also received expensive gifts from this girl such as a Jorg Gray watch valued between $500 to $750. Talk about being kiasu.

The second story involves match fixing but with a heavy dose of..you guessed it…sex thrown in. Businessman Eric Ding Si Yang apparently offered prostitutes to three Lebanese football match officials in return for fixing a game and was bailed at $150,000. As we all know match fixing is a serious business with a lot of money involved so I’m sure the prostitutes involved were of pretty ‘high’ quality or maybe there were more than one given to each coach so they would get more ‘bang for their buck’ (pun intended).

Well hopefully it was worth it because if these guys get charged they face a fine of up to $100,000, up to five years jail, or both a fine and jail term, on each charge.

However the ‘idiot of the moment’ award should go to Staff Sargeant Parthivan Ramaya from Ang Mo Kio Police Division who received sex from Dwi Sulistiani in return for leniency when she was caught stealing. He apparently had “physical intimacy” with her at ..get this..the interview room in the police station. It doesn’t take a genius to know that there are obviously recording devices in an interview room so that the police CAN OBTAIN EVIDENCE.

Probably Staff Sargeant Parthivan needs to go through police academy training again or he was probably thinking with the wrong ‘head’. Apparently this guy also has the libido of an energizer bunny as he had three more sexual encounters with Dwi ON THE SAME DAY. Two of which were at his Yishun Ring Road flat, and the other at a stairwell in Fernvale Road… Viagra sales must be going up.

Speaking of having sex in public places which seems to be the trend amongst many sex for favours cases, another officer from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) was also caught getting sexual favours from China national Liu Lihua in return for helping her extend her stay in Singapore. It was reported that  Senior investigation officer Norezwan Em first did the act at a park near Block 601, Clementi West Street 1 and later on Nov 2 and 6 he decided to be romantic enough to service her somewhere with proper sanitation at Oxley Hotel 88 in Lorong 10, Geylang.

Now if these two officers get convicted each of them could be fined up to $100,000 and/or jailed for up to five years on each charge. Sometimes I wonder if these people realise that prostitution is actually LEGAL in this country.

So the issue I gather from all this news is not that Singaporeans aren’t having enough sex, they’re just having sex with the WRONG people.
